Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, will initiate a new process of inspection of the owners of the broadcasting service, in order to validate the information contained in their affidavits of income. These served as the basis for determining the commercial exploitation fee of the broadcasting service for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016.
The procedure for the subsequent audit of the affidavits of broadcasters is based on Directorial Resolution No. 1179-2016-MTC/28, as amended by Directorate Resolution No. 2564-2018-MTC/28. Therefore, the MTC, through the General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications (DGAT), will carry out this review from next October to January 2019.
For this process, the MTC has contracted the services of the company Toralva & Asociados SC, winner of the public tender N°12-2018. This company is authorized and accredited to carry out visits to the fiscal domicile of authorized broadcasters for commercial purposes, during which it will verify the financial statements or other documentation that it deems pertinent, related to the income obtained from the commercial exploitation of the broadcasting service of the aforementioned periods.
It should be recalled that the fee for commercial exploitation of the broadcasting service contributes to the development of telecommunications, to the control and monitoring of the radio spectrum, and to defray the obligations contracted with international telecommunications organizations.
