Mexico. Within the framework of the fifth anniversary of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, and given the need to carry out a medium- and long-term regulatory prospective, the General Coordination of Strategic Planning (CGPE), the entity presents for public opinion the document "Regulatory vision of telecommunications and broadcasting, 2019-2023" (Vision 19-23).
This exercise aims to obtain information inputs to integrate a holistic medium- and long-term vision (2019-2023) of telecommunications and broadcasting (T&R) that considers the point of view of all sectors of the population that consume, produce or distribute some type of product or service where the networks of these sectors have a fundamental role.
This will allow us to build a medium- and long-term vision on the needs and regulatory challenges of the T&R sectors in the new digital environment.
The Vision 19-23 document proposes the lines of action that the Institute intends to address as part of its medium- and long-term strategic planning. These are based on the experience of the Ift Administrative Units and international actors, as well as the bibliographic review of more than 200 academic publications and specialized documents issued by regulatory bodies of other countries, international organizations, academia, national authorities and consultancies, which allowed to identify different thematic axes.
