Latin America. After several transactions led by the transmitter manufacturer Elenos, with the acquisition of Broadcast Electronics and Itelco, Itelco Americas was formed, which aims to provide greater and better service to the markets of the continent by the conglomerate, said Daniel Bizet, manager for Latin America of Broadcast Electronics.
"In the products we are launching is that we created the company Itelco America. We started serving from Quincy, Illinois, in the United States— where we're based at Broadcast Electronics and we're going to start serving all of the Americas. That's something we're announcing at this NAB Show 2018," he said.
Bizet said: "In terms of products we are launching a new 20KV solid state transmitter of the STX-HP series; and we also have the 10 KV version; we are launching medium power equipment with four rack units of only 3 KV, and the interesting thing about all these products is that they can be controlled by means of a connection via IP. That gives an advantage to the station engineer, who is going to be using this type of technology first-hand, since it gives him the peace of mind of remotely seeing the equipment and knowing what the status is in case there is a failure."
The executive described the route of the new offerings: "Recently there were several mergers: Elenos bought Broadcast Electronics at the end of last year and Elenos had bought Itelco two years ago. These three companies form a wide catalog of variety for our customers, to cope with the number of competitors in the market. In both radio and TV, we offer a wide range of transmitters ranging from very low to very high powers."
Bizet detailed: "The idea of Itelco America is that we can serve effectively, since issues of schedules, presence or even the language itself are not a barrier."
He added: "The market in Latin America is going very well, it had fallen last year, but in the last quarter it has had a rebound, since we started the year quite well and so far it is shaping up with a good outlook and the merger of all these companies will bring us very good results in the end."
