Train on radio in Bogotá

Colombia. Speakers from Germany, Argentina, Costa Rica, Cuba, Panama, Venezuela and Colombia, will meet within the framework of TecnoTelevisión&Radio 2017 to train professionals in the radio industry on the latest trends and technologies for the sector. It is a group of 10 professionals with extensive experience in the operation of radio in the region.

This year the academic program of the radio room will be divided into two segments. The first, which will be held on Tuesday, November 14, will revolve around the technical issues of a radio station.

The day will begin with a three-hour technical workshop in which Rubén Navarro, Oliver Bauman and Raúl Hun, will address the issues related to preventive maintenance for day to day in the stations, which will allow a better operation and operation, minimizing the risks.

Under the title Construction and Upgrade of Equipment, David Garcia will teach those how to renew and upgrade equipment currently deployed in radio for today's needs.

Then, Gabriel Palmieri will explain how it is possible to improve the quality and reliability of broadcast audio just by making changes to the studio-plant link. To end this technical conference, there will be Gerardo Vargas, who in his presentation called HD Radio option for modern broadcasting, will explain the new HD Multiple technology, a conceptual product that implements the transmission of up to 15 audio channels in a single frequency of the FM dial.

Planning the digital strategy
With the massification and development of the internet, there are multiple new options that the media have available for the creation, administration and broadcast of content. Therefore, in order to provide tools to today's broadcasters to adapt to new realities, the second segment, which will take place on Wednesday, November 15, will be focused on how to generate digital strategies.

Although radio is still in force, it is no secret to anyone that the increase in digital radio signals (DAB, Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM), ISDB-T and HD Radio) and digital platforms to listen to uninterrupted music (Spotify, Deezer, Apple Musci, pandora, etc.), become elements that are attacking the cultural sustainability and use of radio. The questions before this panorama are: What should radio do to remain current? What should change, or where should it be aimed? To answer these questions, Ismael Cardozo will have the presentation Retos de la radio in this digital present.

The next presentation will be given by Andrés Murcia and his conference Rethinking the radio with the arrival of social media, who will talk about how to include digital within the agenda of the stations, amplify their reach and sustain success.

With the experience in FM and a lifetime in radio, Andrés Nieto Molina will speak in his presentation about the transition from conventional to digital radio and how to enhance all the new options.

Finally, Félix Riaño will close the day, with the presentation A radio studio for everyone, in which attendees can learn about how to create and distribute their own radio and podcasts with an app from your home or anywhere.

Undoubtedly, the participants of this training and updating day offered by TecnoTelevisión&Radio in its 2017 version, will have better tools to face the challenges of day to day and the future in the stations, both from the technical part and in the management of the contents.
