Colombia. The Colombian provider of telecommunications, water and electricity services, Emcali, has chosen ETL Systems to supply RF equipment for its Cali teleport expansion project.
Emcali required a 32-input x 128 output L-band matrix system that can be used to handle the L-band signal needed to improve the operation and performance of video and data traffic.
This, in turn, will improve the quality of service to end customers and offer more robust operation, allowing power to be supplied to various low-noise block (LNB) downconverters and offset losses individually on each channel.
ETL's L-band Vortex VTX-10 system, commonly used for many high-performance and resilient applications, and Piranha's highly energy-efficient, variable-voltage LNB PRN-10 power supply system were selected by Emcali to meet these requirements.
ETL designed a system that easily expands into a 32x192 L-band matrix to meet Emcali's future requirements, while minimizing downtime, allowing the company to provide enhanced communications without affecting traffic circulating through the system at the time.
"We are delighted to have been chosen by Emcali for this exciting project, as this demonstrates the flexibility of our LNB and RF teams," said Rafael Zamora, International Sales Manager Latin America at ETL Systems.
