NAB. As a pioneer in developments to IP environments, Lawo is committed to the migration of the industry to this technology, said Ignacio González, Sales Director for Central and South America of the company.
"Lawo is immersed in a project of integration by IP of all its systems, both in the audio part and growing in video. Although Lawo has always been related to the audio environment – we are well-known manufacturers for consoles in both radio and broadcast – from a few years to now we are trying to offer an IP-based video solution, which is what the market tends to and technologically is the way to go, "he said during NAB Show.
He said: "We have a great deal of experience in IP environments, because Lawo was one of the forerunners of audio over IP – with the Ravenna standard meeting the global AES67 standard and even improving it. So we have a long experience with the integration of IP systems in the audio part."
On the development of IP-based systems, González said: "The market is in a time of technological impass in which there is a final transition to IP. We have been betting for a long time on IP definitively and the protocol has evolved. In this issue there are two aspects: that of the manufacturer, which evolves and develops the protocols, and the side of the manufacturer that buys the chip. Lawo is not one of those, Lawo integrates it, develops it and evolves it."
