NAB. Verizon's acquisition of Volicon will strengthen both companies as they will benefit from the joint solutions, said Jose Eduardo Favaro, Volicon's Director of Sales for Latin America.
"Given the new position that we were bought by Verizon, it makes us stronger and have solutions like no other company has in this show, such as a point-to-point solution – to be able to transport video, transcode, send, in a very transparent and dynamic way-" he said during NAB Show, held from April 18 to 21 in Las Vegas.
He added, "Verizon is very interested in our customers, because we have more than 1,200 customers around the world, and they also have a very important customer base and there is a very large synergy. Now we have joined forces from these solutions. It is still too early to estimate results, but we know that our products are strong, they will continue to be manufactured and we will continue to do so."
On the Latin American market, Fávaro said: "Although the economic situation in Latin America is not going well, but we are very optimistic, because there is a very large demand for equipment. It is true that the market is very repressed, but we see that there are opportunities. We are very well positioned with new products and tools and this year with the MIP Media Intelligence Platform version of Observer."
The executive said: "Perhaps with the recovery of the market, in the middle of this year we will see an improvement and sell as we want. We believe that the market has potential and that we are well positioned."
