International. Three of Panasonic's professional camcorders received the same number of iF Design Awards 2015 in recognition of the industrial design quality of these products. The AJ-PX270 and HC-X1000 portable camcorders, as well as the Varicam 35/HS System digital cinema camera were chosen to receive the prestigious design awards.
The three camcorders were developed by the panasonic corporation design company team, which has design centers in Tokyo (Japan), London (England), Silicon Valley (United States), Shang Hai (China) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
The AJ-PX270 is a handheld portable camcorder ideal for news production as it offers the same video quality as shoulder-mount laptops, as well as easily adapting to new industry workflows.
The Varicam system is a 4K digital video solution that offers a strong emphasis on matching the quality of recording to that of cinema on film. Its design features equipment that can separate the recording unit from the camera to facilitate multiple applications, add accessories and new settings to the camera or use it remotely.
The HC-X1000 is a small and very light camcorder that records in 4K resolution and 50 frames per second, designed for semi-professional users who want to venture into high-quality production.
These awards have been presented since 1954 by the International Forum Design. The 2015 edition had the participation of 3,209 products from 17 different categories, which were rated by 53 members of an international jury that examines different points such as design quality, level of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, materials, finishes, ease of use, brand value and universal design.
