International. Harmonic presented Polaris Play, its automation software of chanel -in-a-box, CIAB, an automation software for emission management.
Tightly integrated with the Spectrum server system for media, Polaris Play combines a rich set of automated ingestion, media preparation and broadcast workflow capabilities that enable efficient and cost-effective management of up to four fully branded SD or HD channels, each with paired simulcast channels, in a single rack unit.
"Designed specifically for broadcasters with modest broadcast requirements and budgets, Polaris Play offers users a breadth of control features that enable direct management of the critical elements that support an over-the-air channel," said Tom Lattie, vice president of product management at Hamonic.
Polaris Play provides a suite of master control room (MCR) tools that enable ingestion, content preparation, segmentation, preview, and channel playlist control. Scheduled operations can be driven by traffic or by manually created playlists.
The Polaris suite represents Hamonic's evolution in the Emerging Media Orchestration category, which is important as it allows workflows to be consolidated and simplified.
Polaris Play will be available in the first quarter of 2015.
