International. Imagine Communications has been recognized with the Technology and Engineering Emmy Award at the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards for advances in "the standardization and commercialization of JPEG2000 (J2K) interoperability." This is Imagine Communications' ninth recognition and was presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) in a joint ceremony with the Television Academy during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) event in Las Vegas.
"We are thrilled that our deep commitment and involvement in creating open standards and facilitating interoperability among industry innovators has been recognized by NATAS," said Charlie Vogt, CEO of Imagine Communications.
"These fundamental principles of our vision on technology enable customers to maximize their investments in existing infrastructures and workflows while migrating to an IP-based future in open standards and interoperable industry solutions. Imagine Communications' participation in the Video Services Forum makes the recognition of our work on creating an open, multi-vendor-friendly JPEG2000 standard especially significant."
At NAB 2014, Imagine Communications added JPEG2000 to its Selenium™ Media Convergence Platform (MCP) for best-in-class IP compression. The Selenium MCP is the platform of choice for media companies that need a multi-purpose convergence solution to efficiently manage baseband and hybrid operations, enabling migration into the future while still protecting their current technology investments.
