Latin America. NewTek introduced TalkShow VS-100, a video call production system designed specifically for television studios and live video producers. With TalkShow, any live TV or video producer can easily reach 300 million Skype users per month and incorporate them as guest speakers on live shows, with full-image Skype video calls.
The TalkShow system is based on Microsoft's Skype TX software to initiate, receive, monitor and manage video calls, with a unique set of live production tools not found in other video calling systems. Users have access to custom settings for live video calls with full-color correction (including automatic color balancing features), built-in SDI audio, compressor/limiter, equalization, controls, and adjustable free space to further enhance audio quality.
Producers using TalkShow with TriCaster video production systems with multiple cameras will be able to route Skype video calls directly to and from a TriCaster using a network connection without compromising an additional HD-SDI input.
Among the tools of this system are:
Access anyone you can communicate with online – including the growing audience of 300 million Skype users who connect monthly around the world, to incorporate more expert analysis and greater perspective into your shows, without specialized network tools, ENG client or proprietary software to call a broadcast or live event.
Transform any Skype video call initiated to – or from – a desktop, laptop, X-Box gaming system, Skype-enabled TV or cell phone service into a full-screen video – with automatic aspect conversion and balanced audio. TalkShow operators can work free of audio/visual distractions such as secondary call notifications and advertisements.
Color-balanced video images – with full proc-amp controls and automatic color correction to adjust image attributes, so that any lighting environment that allows for poorly lit and contrasting video calls appear with much higher quality.
Deliver audio signal quality for reliable broadcasting – with audio with built-in SDI and built-in compressor/limiter tools that keep call volume at consistent levels and prevent audio clipping. In addition, producers who generally struggle with the harsh audio and midtone nasal type generated in small telephone microphones can adjust the overall hue and background noise of any Skype call using a panel graphic equalizer.
Actively monitor live Skype video calls – with full Tally support that allows operators to see when there is currently live Skype TalkShow content on a show.
Easily manage multiple simultaneous calls on Skype – within a single, easy-to-use interface that gives operators previews, continuous call quality monitoring, and an automatic workaround to customize static images when unforeseen limitations occur on broadband.
The VS-100 TalkShow is scheduled to launch in the Fourth Quarter of 2014 and is currently available for order at a special introductory price of $3995 USMSRP, which will remain in effect until November 26, 2014.
