MADRID, 20 Aug. (Portaltic/EP) -
The application / social network to share photos Instagram has decided that third-party applications stop using part of the name of its brand, that is, it prohibits the rest of the applications from using the terms 'insta' and 'gram'. The company has given a period of 48 hours to change the name of those applications that include these two words.
The application created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger has decided to give a change to its previous conditions of use and restrict the brand name to themselves, letting applications such as Luxogram or Webstagram change within 48 hours the name of their applications, according to Techcrunch. In addition, among those changes in terms of the conditions of use, the prohibition of Instagram logo stands out.
Until now, the social network to share photographs already had a series of limitations such as the possibility of other applications to use Instagram photos.
On the other hand, the criticisms of such a move by Instagram have not been long in coming. Jeff Broderick, head of the company Luxogram, showed his opinion through his Twitter account. (@brdrck). "It looks like he wants to kill Luxogram," referring to Instagram's new guideline change and ban on using part of the 'gram' brand. What's more, through another 'tweet' he showed all his followers the email he received from Instagram with the notice.
Therefore, platforms such as Statigram, Luxogram, Webstagram, Gramfeed, Instadrop, Instagallery will have to look for a new name for their brands and change the terms 'insta' and 'gram' in the next 48 hours.
