SeaChange International demonstrated its range of new workflows and servers. Among the main novelties is a new workflow that ranges from production to playout, the next generation of its Broadcast MediaLibrary and servers for transmission based on flash memories. Through a partnership with Dalet Digital Media Systems and DataDirect Networks, SeaChange is bringing to market a media asset management-based workflow that improves how broadcasters produce, share and repurpose content.
The solution consists of SeaChange's consistent open and modular Infrastructure of the MediaClient for multi-format ingestion and playout; DataDirect Network's S2A storage system; and DaletPlus' corporate asset management software. The BMLxt streaming server adds new features and performance capabilities to SeaChange's Broadcast MediaLibrary system. Designed for producers who require a scalable and reliable, disk-based core library of media assets, the BMLxt stands out for a new SAS disk-based design that improves reliability while delivering higher transfer speeds, less latency, and greater scalability.
The latest version of the FML200 server uses a 64 GB (24) flash memory disk, which makes it very reliable and allows it to provide more channels per rack unit than other transmission servers available today.
