Rohde & Schwarz focused its attention on products for ATSC Mobile TV, the new standard for mobile television, in the development of which the firm has played an important role. The company offers network operators encoders, multiplexers and transmitters to enter the mobile TV market. An alternative package makes it possible to efficiently upgrade existing ATSC infrastructures to ATSC services for mobile digital television. A central component of the equipment is the new AEM100 multiplexer.
In addition, Rohde & Schwarz's evaluation and measurement equipment supports the new digital broadcasting standards. The ETL TV analyzer and the SFU TV evaluation platform both support the AMERICAN ATSC Mobile DTV standard.
The ATSC standard for digital mobile television allows you to configure single efficient frequency (SFN) networks. Such networks can be implemented by deploying Rohde & Schwarz transmitters.
Another novelty was the SCx8000 transmitter, developed for mobile digital television standards such as ATSC Mobile DTV, MediaFLO or DVB-H, but which can also be used for analog television. This compact transmitter allows broadcast operators and wireless communication networks to configure or expand their networks in a cost-effective manner.
