Colombia. Within the framework of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM), Relatos en Serie, the initiative led by MinTIC and Proimágenes Colombia and operated by Canal Trece, announced the six winning projects this year, with the aim of supporting the creation of seven fiction and non-fiction miniseries of three chapters produced by professionals of the country's deaf population.
Each of the six winning audiovisual fiction projects will receive an economic stimulus of $26,500,000; each nonfiction project will receive $24,500,000 (about $5,600).
Through this initiative MinTIC seeks to create opportunities and bridges for the deaf population to be a creator of content and find in public television a window to tell their stories.
In addition, this initiative strengthens the contents that are born from the minority populations of the country accompanying all the moments of production and opening the ways for them to find ways to distribute them within the links of the value chain of the audiovisual industry.
This year, Relatos en Serie received eight applications for audiovisual projects from Popayán, Cali, Ibagué and Bogotá, which were evaluated between June 22 and July 13 by a Committee of Experts who analyzed artistic, technical, conceptual, feasibility and relevance aspects of each project.
During 2021, in the first edition of Relatos en Serie, stimuli were granted to the diversity of experiential contents of the NARP population (Black, Afro-descendants, Raizales and Palenqueras). For the two terms, the National Government has invested a figure close to $400 million pesos.
The selected miniseries will be broadcast by the country's public television channels through their main signals and digital platforms.
