Latin America. Blackmagic Design unveiled the new DeckLink Mini Monitor HD and DeckLink Mini Recorder HD models, two PCIe capture and playback cards with 3G and HDMI SDI connections. These versions of the popular DeckLink Mini devices support maximum resolutions of 1080p60 and DCI 2Kp60.
They have been designed to provide compatibility with advanced chromatic spaces, for example, Rec. 2020, for richer colors and a wider dynamic range. It should also be noted that these models are cheaper.
The DeckLink Mini Recorder HD and DeckLink Mini Monitor HD models feature advanced technology and allow you to capture and play back images with or without compression at 10-bit quality in standard definition or high definition. Both devices also support 10-bit YUV and 12-bit 4:4:4 RGB signals for exceptional sharpness and stunning detail. Replacing previous SDI 1.5G versions has added additional features, such as support for maximum resolutions of 1080p60 and DCI 2Kp60, wider color spaces (including Rec. 2020), and RGB formats.
The new DeckLink Mini HD models are second-generation, low-profile PCIe x1 cards that are easily installed on desktop computers or rack-mounted servers, thanks to the included adapters. They allow you to receive images from recorders, cameras and live sources, with the purpose of transmitting them to monitors, projectors, multimedia servers and other devices. This is ideal for editing, creating graphics and compositions or performing endless tasks during post-production that require the best quality and true versatility.
The DeckLink Mini Recorder HD model provides the opportunity to use any PCIe computer equipment to capture professional-quality images from 3G or HDMI SDI sources, both in standard definition and high definition, and in HDCAM, D5, SDCAM or Digital Betacam format, among others. In turn, being compatible with popular broadcast programs, such as OBS, it is possible to receive signals from cameras or mixers and integrate them directly into a live broadcast.
For its part, the DeckLink Mini Monitor HD model allows you to transmit SDI 3G and HDMI signals from PCIe computer equipment to play them directly on televisions, projectors and even mixers with a maximum resolution of 1080p60. The images turn out to be a perfect copy of the original without loss of any detail, which allows to obtain the best possible quality when supervising the recorded material. It is worth mentioning that this card is compatible with the latest HDR formats and, therefore, is ideal when it is necessary to carry out professional monitoring with accurate colors at an economical price.
Since both cards cost less, it is possible to implement these capture or playback solutions as needed. For example, for monitoring images using non-linear editing programs, the DeckLink Mini Monitor HD model would be an ideal choice. In turn, those who simply need a capture device can opt for the DeckLink Mini Recorder HD version.
"These cards are ideal for a wide variety of work dynamics, as they offer professional quality at an extremely economical price. We are pleased to be able to support various formats at maximum resolutions of 1080p60 and DCI 2K, as well as advanced color spaces and high dynamic range images, through these two new devices. They fit on any computer equipment, even on low-profile servers, thus providing the possibility of capturing or reproducing images with unparalleled quality, in any editing system, at a very affordable price," said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design.
