Colombia. The radio station Cadena Melodía de Colombia, within its strategies of digital growth and technological strengthening of its infrastructure, has relied on Aspa Andina for the Digitalization project of its main broadcast studio.
Thanks to the technology of the German manufacturer DHD, a distributed Digital Audio System has been implemented that allows at an initial stage of the project the interconnection of its two broadcast studios with a simple Category 6 network cable, where through the 2 TFT screens of 10 "multi-touch of the new control surfaces 52-SX2 different audio routing can be made from any input available in the system and to any of the outputs enabled for this purpose, including recording tools, in-cabin monitoring, return to audiocoders, hybrids, etc.
These new control surfaces 52-SX2 to already have Fader Motorized have allowed to implement a "Virtual Microphone Mixer" in a second layer / layer of the console, to optimize costs and space in the Master of Emission, which allows to have an automatic mixing of all the microphones of the studio (taking advantage of the AUTOMIX® tool of DHD) in one of its 16 available program buses (expandable by license), thus facilitating the operation and loading of the console operator.
Additionally, taking advantage of the practicality and practically unlimited amount of audio inputs and outputs (in ALL existing audio formats) that the DHD system can offer in a scalable way, headphone jacks with independent level control have been installed and called by GPO to the operator of the console of our firm PSR, which allows to take advantage of the independent return in the GMP-8300D headphones of German manufacture arranged for each speaker, even allowing Talkback or Orders from the Master of the station exclusively for when required.
At the level of communications, it should be noted that the studio has several IP audiocoders, but with a recent implementation of a telephone hybrid (fully remoteable / managed from the DHD Console) compatible with both traditional telephone lines (POTS / PSTN) and IP Telephony (VoIP) of the Italian firm AXEL TECH whose MULTIMODE model offers in addition to these "fixed" telephone connections, the possibility of wireless connection with Smartphones via BLUETOOTH (in two-way communication, for the return of the listener), as well as the possibility of connecting to GSM networks through a complementary accessory offered by the manufacturer.
