Latin America. ARRI approved the B-Mount as the universal industry standard for 24V batteries. The new B-Mount battery interface, as used in current and future ARRI cameras and lights, is quickly being adopted as an industry standard that can work with any brand, bringing benefits to ARRI customers and the entire global industry.
The B-Mount, developed by bebob, is a new industry standard for documented battery mounting and available in open form. Major battery manufacturers such as bebob, Blueshape, Core SWX, Fxlion, Hawk-Woods, IDX and SWIT are developing B-Mount products, and recognize that modern digital cameras, accessories and rigs often exceed the limits of existing power systems. LED lighting devices can also be powered by integrated batteries, so an industry standard for both cameras and lights offers great advantages and opens up new possibilities for easy and efficient mobile shooting.
Problems with camera systems can often be attributed to battery capacity limits. A new 24 V industry standard with high capacity offers a future-proof solution to the growing energy demands of professional camera and lighting systems. With the B-Mount the potential for energy increase is three times greater than with traditional 12 V systems.
The B-Mount system offers a robust construction, compact size and seamlessly integrated interlacing. Unlike other battery mounts, this one is capable of withstanding intense vibrations from modern camera stabilizer systems and meets the strict safety standards of the lighting industry.
Another advantage of B-Mount is the opportunity it offers for advanced communication between batteries and camera or lighting equipment. This can favor, for example, highly accurate readings of remaining time and charging time, which increases efficiency in set.
B-Mount plates or adapters are available for all current ARRI cameras, as well as SkyPanel S30, S60 and S120 lights.
