Oceans is the new platform for broadcast Pebble Beach

Latin America. Oceans is Pebble's next-generation service-oriented technology platform. Designed for all clouds, but equally on-prem, Oceans will enable broadcasters to deploy, manage, host and update their workflows and streaming services from a single, unified and intuitive interface, both now and in the future IP.

Designed to handle complex streaming workflows in a simple and intuitive way, thanks to common core services across multiple functional applications, Oceans provides better visibility and control of the playout infrastructure. Regardless of scale, Oceans will allow broadcasters to expand their deployment as new services are launched. The platform allows them to write and integrate their own functionality using Oceans' open and secure APIs.

The management of the Oceans platform is based on "virtual" containers and ensures that users are running the most efficient solution for the scale of their operation, offering the best provisioning, management and use of the resources available for their needs at any time.

Oceans has been designed with four key principles:

- Publicidad -

- Assist broadcasters and media companies in the transition to IP-based technologies, including the cloud.
- Engage existing Pebble customers and offer access to the new functionality.
- Offer agile and reactive technology for changing businesses and external developments.
- Easily support new technologies with modular, iterative and flexible solutions at all scales, from single-channel infrastructures to multi-channel, multi-site and geo-dispersed operations.
As the broadcast industry moves towards an increasingly widespread adoption of IP protocols and expands to include VOD services and other OTT offerings, broadcasters and operators are increasingly exploring ways to work within the cloud that make both practical and financial sense.

"Interoperability is in our DNA," says Daniel Robinson, R&D director at Pebble Beach Systems. "As experienced solution builders, our business is implementing emission infrastructures and bringing customers to the air in test and diverse environments. Oceans will provide the broadcast community with flexible and easily upgradable solutions that adapt to each workflow. By building Oceans from the ground up, we take a rigorous approach to security, authentication and resiliency, and build the platform the industry needs with the right building blocks for more functional services that further enhance our automation solutions."
