Colombia. The Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, MinTIC, and Canal Trece are looking for talents for the creation and production of content in audiovisual format, with the purpose of strengthening the digital asset of public channels.
"I invite those who belong to the audiovisual industry of the country to participate in this great project in which we will reward the 300 best productions. They will be short stories, with free themes for participants to expose the best of their talent and tell their stories creatively from home," added ICT Minister Karen Abudinen.
The proposals will be received on the platform of SmartFilms, the film festival made with cell phones, in the category 'Great stories with small cameras'.
The call began on August 31 and closes on September 21. There are 1,000 places to choose 300 scripts, distributed among fiction units with free themes and / or web miniseries of three chapters, whose duration will be between four and six minutes.
The challenge consists of three stages, the first to receive the scripts of the 1,000 proponents, the second in which 300 will be selected and the third stage once the projects are on the air in the regional channels.
Each of the 300 best productions chosen will receive 12 million pesos including the taxes of Law, resources that will be administered by a trust.
What are they looking for?
Stories that address topics representative of the region of origin or residence of the creators, with cell phones or any other portable device. Being an invitation to professionals in the audiovisual industry it is possible that some have cameras and sound recording equipment in their homes, therefore, the audiovisual pieces to be selected can have very varied technical qualities. It seeks to prioritize the importance of the story over the quality of the recording.
The works will be evaluated by 11 national and international juries and recognized experts and professionals of the industry. With this new project, MinTIC, in partnership with Canal Trece, seeks to strengthen artists and workers in the sector.
