Colombia. Sergio Martínez Medina was appointed as Commissioner of the CRC to be part, along with Commissioner Carlos Lugo Silva, of the Communications Commission Session of the entity that is currently under the Executive Direction of Zoila Vargas Mesa.
Martínez is an economist from the Universidad de los Andes with a specialization in Social Evaluation of Projects, and in Risk and Information Economics from the same university, Master in Economics and Regulation of Public Services from the University of Barcelona (Spain) and in Interdisciplinary Studies on Development from the Universidad de los Andes.
He has more than 15 years of experience in the design of public and regulatory policies in both the public and private sectors, serving as an advisor at Telefónica Colombia, an official of the Infrastructure Directorate of the National Planning Department (DNP), as well as an advisor and consultant to the Communications Regulation Commission, until becoming High District Councilor for ICT, position he held until today.
With the appointment of Martínez, Camilo Alberto Jiménez, who had been appointed as Commissioner, retired from the Commission, resuming his functions as Director of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (MinTIC).
The Communications Commission Session will be finalized with the election of two more commissioners, through the merit contest that is being carried out by the Administrative Department of the Public Function.
