Colombia. After receiving comments from interested parties on the draft specifications of Call No. 001 of 2019 for the award process of community broadcasters, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (MinTIC) published the final specifications of the project that will expand access to information in the national territory.
With this process, MinTIC will guarantee that regions that currently do not have this service can have new channels that help strengthen their regional identity and communication opportunities, turning the population into a participatory agent that provides solutions to the problems that occur in their territory and that promotes free expression.
"With the process of awarding community stations we seek to provide new alternatives that contribute to information, interaction, dialogue and cohesion in communities, facilitating the encounter and strengthening of different cultural identities. In this way, we are paying off a debt with the most remote areas of the country that did not have this service, "said the ICT Minister, Sylvia Constaín.
With the publication of the final specifications, all those interested in the concessions of the sound broadcasting service will be able to know the necessary conditions that they must take into account to participate in the process of assigning community stations.
In the last quarter of this year the award of these means will be made
