Central America. More than 100 professionals from the audiovisual sector, including bidders from Central America and the Caribbean and international buyers, took advantage of the meeting and networking spaces organized as part of the Audiovisual Market of Central America and the Caribbean (MAUCC) in search of co-production opportunities and new business.
The space organized by the Film Commission of Costa Rica and Expo Andina Link Costa Rica had around 200 prospective business appointments, as well as specialized talks for the sector with topics such as audiovisual projects with international standards, innovative models in production, audiovisual market in Latin America, among others.
According to José Castro, Film Commissioner of Costa Rica, the event seeks to position itself as a new platform for the transaction of audiovisual content and cultural promotion of sustainable businesses, which not only benefits Costa Rica but also extends its impact to the entire region.
"It fills us with satisfaction to know that around 40 bidders in the region are one step closer to making alliances for co-production or sale of content, this will boost the audiovisual sector and attract, increasingly, attention to our region leaving in evidence that we have talent and capabilities to compete in international markets, " Added.
Some of the international buyers who participated in the MAUCC were Cinépolis, Mexico; Latido Films, Spain; Teleantioquia, Colombia; among others. To these were added buyers of national content such as Multimedios and Coopeguanacaste.
