Argentina. During the last session of Enacom's board of directors, within the framework of the FM standardization process, 20 definitive licenses for radio stations were awarded, regularizing the situation of stations with Precarious and Provisional Permits (PPP) belonging to the provinces of Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Chaco, CABA and Entre Ríos.
So far there are already 119 stations that were able to transform their PPPs into definitive radio licenses and even, in the case of some of them, after waiting for almost 30 years.
Among the initiatives, there is also the award of licenses corresponding to simplified tenders for the provision of audiovisual communication services by frequency modulation (FM) in the provinces of Córdoba (35), Santa Cruz (6) and Mendoza (1). In turn, they opened new calls for the provinces of Córdoba and Santa Cruz.
Tenders were also approved for AM/FM services, which were awarded through the delivery of 10 awards in the provinces of Santa Cruz, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Corrientes, Río Negro, Santa Fe and San Juan.
Likewise, 9 Non-Reimbursable Contributions (NRAs) projects corresponding to the Universal Service program were approved for a total amount of $27,748,156 in the provinces of Río Negro, La Pampa, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Neuquén. These amounts are obtained from the Universal Service Trust Fund and aim to enable all inhabitants to have access to ICT services in quality conditions and at a fair price, regardless of the area of the country in which they are located.
