Brazil. The National Telecommunications Agency, Anatel, registered 16,709,668 households with access to Pay-TV in June 2019, a decrease of 1.23 million (-6.86%) in 12 months.
Almost half of the households received (in June) the service of the Claro Group (NET), 8,227,823 contracts were registered (49.24% of the market), in second place was SKY, with 4,999,821 contracts (29.92%), followed by Oi, with 1,584,397 contracts (9.48% of the market) and Vivo with 1,460,281 contracts (8.74% of the market).
Almost all suppliers had a drop in the number of customers in June compared to the same month last year, except for Oi, which showed a slight growth of 1.77% (in the last 12 months), with a balance of + 27,499 customers. Claro (NET) decreased 8.03% (a loss of 718,818 customers) and Sky also decreased 3.85% (a loss of 200,082 customers).
Among the states, São Paulo registered the highest number of customers, 6,209,795 contracts were registered and Roraima registered the lowest number of customers, in the state 16,283 pay-TV contracts were registered in June.
