Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, granted the good pro of 37 frequencies of sound broadcasting in FM (Modulated Frequency) for a total amount of S / 1,095,834.
In this way, rural areas such as Cachora (Apurímac), Huayopata-Huyro-Ipal (Cusco), Conchamarca (Huánuco), Santa Rosa (Loreto) and Pucara-Pucara-Santiago de Pupuja-Tirapata (Puno) station, will have radio and television stations that allow them to stay informed.
The offer of media will also be increased in areas of preferential social interest such as Palmapampa (Ayacucho), Checacupe-Pitumarca (Cusco), Anco (La Esmeralda)-Andabamba-El Carmen (Paucarbambilla)-Paucara-Rosario (Huancavelica), Huancabamba (Piura), Sondor-Sondorillo (Piura), qualified as areas of preferential social interest.
These authorizations were delivered on July 23 in the first Public Contest of 2019 held in Lima. Economic proposals were presented for frequencies in 17 localities located in the departments of Huancavelica, Apurímac, Áncash, Cusco, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Huánuco, Loreto, Cajamarca, San Martín, Madre de Dios and Puno.
"We work to reduce the gap in telecommunications services and promote broadcasting in rural areas of preferential social interest, considering the importance it has today, as it keeps local and national information available to all citizens," said Edgar Aparicio, director of Broadcasting Services of the General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications.
It should be noted that article 16 of Law No. 28278, the Radio and Television Law, provides that the granting of authorizations for the broadcasting service shall be carried out by means of a public tender when the number of frequencies available in a locality is less than the number of proposals.
