"We work to reduce the gap in telecommunications services and promote broadcasting in rural areas of preferential social interest, considering the importance it has today, as it keeps local and national information available to all citizens," said Edgar Aparicio, director of Broadcasting Services of the General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications.

It should be noted that article 16 of Law No. 28278, the Radio and Television Law, provides that the granting of authorizations for the broadcasting service shall be carried out by means of a public tender when the number of frequencies available in a locality is less than the number of proposals.
