Latin America. In November 2018 Vitec, with its Teradek brand, acquired Amimon, the provider of video transmission technology within the Teradek Bolt and the Arri Wireless Video System (WVS). Vitec continues its ongoing commitment to the Arri WVS product line, which is being expanded with the new addition: the WVR-1s, a compact and lightweight wireless video receiver.
Arri's WVR-1s wireless video receiver is primarily designed to allow photographers and managers to monitor footage remotely as it is being captured. The WVR-1s, a smaller, lighter-weight counterpart to Arri's long-range WVR-1, can be quickly combined with the Arri WVS's transmitter and boasts an operational range of up to 150 meters/500 feet.
The WVR-1s is built to high ARRI standards with a robust milled aluminum housing. To increase its flexibility for handheld camera shooting and reduce overall weight it has integrated antennas, adapters for micro-batteries and an extra current output for a monitor. Backed by Arri's global network of technical service centers, any downtime will be reduced to a minimum, and as the Arri WVS is fully certified operators can always trust that local transmission regulations are complied with.
The WVR-1s is part of the wide range of Arri wireless video system, which includes both integrated and external transmitters, receivers and monitors, and a wide range of associated accessories. The first shipments of the new WVR-1s compact receiver are scheduled for May 2019.
