Colombia. As part of the process of deployment and implementation of DTT in Colombia, the ANTV convened stakeholders and stakeholders to publicize the pilot plan that aims to measure and explore the cessation of analog broadcasts in some cities of the country.
The day began with the intervention of the director in charge of the ANTV, Mariana Viña Castro, who stressed that "it is very important to be able to have this dialogue to socialize what the National Television Board (JNTV) has drawn up as a plan for this year that will be a laboratory for the cessation of analog broadcasts and the implementation of this final stage of DTT to become a reality".
The session continued with the socialization of the plan by the engineer Ernesto Orozco Orozco, representative of the Governorates before the JNTV, who began his speech by emphasizing that "undoubtedly one of the critical points is the decision making for the cessation of analog broadcasts in the plan, all this to minimize the points of risk, that is why in several years we have gathered from different experiences of countries that have allowed us to equip ourselves with the experience and knowledge to structure a plan adapted to Colombian conditions".
The JNTV and the ANTV decided that before having a strategic plan, a pilot plan must be carried out in which initial cities were chosen based on studies carried out by the European Union and the DTT technical team. These pilot cities would be San Andrés, Buenaventura, Ocaña, Ibagué and Leticia.
This exploratory pilot includes surveys, measurements, study of indicators and feedback that strengthens the study statistically in order to promote the DTT platform and that can be considered as the first option for free-to-air TV consumption in the country.
After the socialization, the plan was put to discussion so that the attendees could make their contributions or comments regarding the proposed work plan, since the objective is to strengthen this pilot plan of analog shutdown, review the weak points and reduce the possible negative points that may arise.
