Argentina. In the course of this year, the Argentine television station Telefe, made the decision to acquire the video recorder and player for different codecs and formats – ZX45 – from the American company Cinedeck, represented in Latin America by AudioVideo BrandBuilder Corporation.
For reasons specific to the company and opportunities for being part of the American corporation, Viacom, Telefe decided on this option of Cinedeck. "For the production of fictions we needed to have a team that would provide us with an interface that showed the status of the recording of the multiple signals simultaneously and that all were being ingested with the same time code and synchronization in case it is necessary to verify them," says Diego Pérez, Technical Engineer of Telefe.
In addition, due to the flexibility in formats, variety of codecs, and ability to record 4 HD signals simultaneously, the Cinedeck ZX45 is the recorder used in other programs of the same conglomerate, such as Nick Jr and Comedy Central, since it accepts frame rates and codecs not available in the original inventory of Telefe equipment.
"The Cinedeck ZX45 has an easy-to-operate interface and allows customizations that evidence its design based on the operator's experience. Because Telefe is venturing into the generation of 4K/HDR content and thanks to the possibility of the ZX45 to operate with 4 HD signals or a 4K signal, we believe that in the short term we will also be using the capacity of the team for this new format "concludes Engineer Diego Pérez.
"For our part, we are very pleased that technology such as Cinedeck's that allows simultaneous multichannel and multi-codec recording is already accepted in Latin America and that Telefe has adopted the ZX45 model for its fiction productions," concluded Carlos Noguera, Sales Director for Latin America at AVBB.
