Argentina. The Argentine free-to-air television network Telefe, which was acquired by the international media group Viacom, inaugurated its new studios for the production of news and live programs, which are fully equipped with Arri LED lighting from an unprecedented project that was carried out together with the technology integrator and representative of the brand in Argentina, VHL.
As part of the integration process with Viacom, Telefe advances to become a multimedia hub with 11 studios and scenographic workshop from its current facilities located in the town of Martínez, province of Buenos Aires. The new news and broadcast building contains a studio of 600 square meters and for its equipment and construction very clear ecological guidelines were followed.
Everything was thought and designed for energy saving, not only from LED lighting, but looking for the least possible heat dissipation and therefore, the lowest electrical consumption of cooling equipment.
Thanks to the advice and support of VHL, the channel chose Arri to realize this great objective. Hernán Winnik, commercial director of VHL, explains: "When Telefe raised the need for a state-of-the-art studio prioritizing the quality of the lighting to be implemented, we immediately thought of Arri's LED lights."
For his part, Gustavo Capua, SVP Finance, Technology and Operations Viacom / Telefe, and who was in charge of the move of the capital federal studio, comments: "Those of us who have performed tasks in the medium for years, we have known Arri for a long time for its high quality products."
After an exhaustive analysis of the lighting market, numerous tests, trials and calculations with different brands and models, ARRI stood out as the only brand capable of meeting all customer requirements, both at the light level and in the transmission of data for control.
"The set has four daily news broadcasts and we managed to make each one have its own lighting; only with the use of RGB, we establish different climates of lights for different artistic needs without wasting time and without having to modify the location of the artifacts, "adds Gustavo Capua.
The line of Projectors Fresneles LEDs RGB + W of ARRI L7-C and L10-C were implemented and for the replacement of light type Soft, panels of LEDs SkyPanels S60-C of the type RGB + W were used. All luminaires respond to DMX 512 and RDM protocol, which allows communication between the light control equipment and the light sources themselves.
At no time, the Telefe team was alone in this venture. On behalf of the brand and the distributor, everything was prepared so that it had the indispensable tools and knowledge. "We did a three-day workshop on the lighting controls and communication protocols that exist for this control. 30 Telefe technicians participated in approaching you."
