BAM gave recognition to audiovisual talent

Colombia. The Bogotá Audiovisual Market – BAM, which culminated on July 13, awarded a series of awards to some participants in this market, which will allow them to strengthen themselves at a creative and business level in order to continue building their career in this industry and projecting themselves in the international market.

BAM Projects Category
More than 40 feature film projects and/or fiction, animation and documentary series with co-production potential participated in the awards of this section. Carolina Herrera of the project "The most feared skin" was the winner of the award of the MEET THEM! Program, which takes place within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival (Spain). He received a free accreditation, four nights of accommodation and airport-hotel-airport transportation to participate in the 66th edition of the contest. The juries awarded honorable mentions to the projects "Cantos que inundan el río" by the company Pasolini de Medellín and "Nuevas fronteras" by Monarca Producciones de Bogotá.

On the other hand, Sindy López of the "Palos verdes" project and Andrés Mossos of the "La promesa" project obtained an accreditation and five nights of accommodation to participate in CineMart, an international co-production market, at the Rotterdam Lab 2019, which will take place in January 2019. This award was given with support from the Fund for Film Development (FDC).

In addition, the Cine Latino - Rencontres festival in Toulouse granted Rocío Caro, producer of "Cuero duro", "fast track" access to the "Cinéma en Développement" section (cinema in development), the credential, meals and transportation. The BAM provided this winner with the air ticket.

For its part, MIP TV, a global distribution market and leading event in the segment of digital and television content development, delivered an accreditation and air tickets to "Cuentazos con efectazos" of LaPost Estudio and "Alimentástico" of Animaedro; while Space Native, an expert company in virtual reality, delivered to "Garden of Vision" of 4Directions who participated in the New Media category, the loan of a VR camera equipment for three days and the process of brutal stitching of the captured material.

The company Congo Films, house of rental and sale of film and television equipment, awarded "Nocaout", of Madlove, with three days of use of equipment such as the Red One camera with PL optics set and basic camera accessories, truck with large grip package, electrical distribution, tungsten lights (2-5k, 4-2k, 4-1k, 2-650w, 2-300w), 6kw in HMI lights and a Dolly Doorway. "Nocaut" also received the fast track to the co-production market of Señal Colombia.

LCI Seguros, on the other hand, gave a discount of 50% of the cost of insurance of up to $ 45,000,000 for the production of "Bridges over the sea", by Pathos Audiovisual.

Category Screenings
Labodigital, an image and sound post-production services company, awarded an award to "The Intrusion", from the Work in Progress section, and an award to "#QuéRicoPaís", from the Ready to Go section, which consists of 10 copies in DCP and 40 copies of the trailer of his film.

Additionally, the company Futuro Digital, a specialist in post-production, awarded a package of postcoloring services to "Cold in the mountains". This includes the creation of DCP for a feature film with 5.1 audio, subtitled in two languages from translated file, two copies of DCP on external hard drive, distribution of DCP to up to five festivals through digital shipping, creation of delivery with revision of standards for distribution on Netflix, iTunes, and on up to two channels or additional platforms, Blu-ray mastering with menu and two subtitle languages, ten boxed Blu-ray copies, a legal deposit package, a DCDM and Prores creation, LTO copying, QC reports and a 9TB storage package for preservation of movie files.

Señal Colombia of RTVC - Sistema de Medios Públicos delivered, for the third consecutive year, the recognition to the documentary "Dopamine" and the fiction "El piedra". This consists of the broadcast of these productions in the strips "En cine nos vemos" and "Documentales para ver el mundo" of Señal Colombia, which includes a promotion strategy on screen, web and social networks to support the launch of the two films in theaters.

The companies 2:35 Digital, a laboratory specialized in digital processes for post-production and image completion, and Sonata Films, a company dedicated to sound and musical creation for audiovisual projects, chose "La venganza de Jairo", by Galaxia 311, as the winner of a direct sound restoration service. Likewise, these companies granted the foley service for the fiction film "Kairós", by Dar a Luz Producciones. Finally, these companies granted the color correction service to "Los días de la ballena", by Rara Colectivo Audiovisual.

Category Bammers
Angie Parra, one of the 53 Bammers or young talents who participated in this edition of the BAM, received the Shock Award consisting of $8 million to finance the pilot chapter of her web series project "Colombian kombat". On the other hand, Bogotá International Film Festival (BIFF) gave an invitation to Bammer Maicol Rian to participate in the BIFF Bang workshops that will take place from October 12 to 18. Likewise, the BIFF delivered five passes for the Bammers Jessica Pulido, Laura Robles, Julián Duarte, Bernardo Chinchilla and Érika Delgadillo to be part of the Youth Award committee, which will also allow them to enjoy the festival program and discuss it. Additionally, the National Film School (ENACC) awarded two scholarships for Brigitte Morris and Fabio Beltrán, two most outstanding Bammers.

BAM Stories
Finally, during the BAM, Andrés Ramírez Pulido, from La Jauría, a participant in the BAM Stories category, was awarded a residency in the Cine Qua Non Lab script laboratory, in which independent filmmakers from all over the world have the opportunity to work on their scripts in an environment conducive to creation and be part of a community of filmmakers with similar interests. The residency will take place in October 2018.
