FonTV will deliver 3,600 million in 2018

Colombia. The National Television Authority, ANTV, announced that this year it will allocate 3,600 million to the Fund for the Development of Television, FonTV, with the aim of promoting content that tells us as a society, from an inclusive, close, human perspective and in which quality content prevails.

The Recharged Public TV is the new quality television in audiovisual content promoted by the National Television Authority and the call for the promotion of the industry and audiovisual content, which makes important investments generating spaces that educate, entertain and strengthen the culture and traditions of the country, recognizing the work of those who create new content.

"Public TV recharges to remain one of the best in the continent, betting decisively on investing in quality content, because promoting this sector and recognizing the work of those who believe for a better country, also constitutes an invaluable contribution to historical memory, strengthens our democracy and defends our cultural sovereignty," explained Ángela María Mora Soto, director of the ANTV.

It is important to note that between 2013 and 2014 the ANTV, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, financed 19 productions with the resources of the Fund for the Development of Television and Content. Since 2016, the ANTV launched the Stimulus Call, in its first version it received 72 proposals of which 14 were selected in four categories that received resources for $ 1,672 million pesos.

In 2017, the promotion of the television industry was reflected in two calls for content production, in which the investment amounted to $2.6 billion pesos, with a historical record of 72 applications and 19 financed productions.

"The National Television Authority opened its call for promotion and financing for the production of audiovisual content for television 2017 and invited operators of the public service of non-profit television open (local) and closed (community), companies producing audiovisual content and new creators and ethnic groups with the technical and operational capacity for the production of audiovisual content", added the director of the ANTV.

Of the 19 productions financed, in a special gala in Cartagena within the framework of the AndinaLink fair, a recognition was made to five series that, for their quality and social impact, stand out: 'Life is a meme', 'Protected', 'Flow Recharged', 'The Good Executioner' and 'Bureaucrats'.
