Colombia. A magical night was lived in the Convention Center of the Hotel Las Américas, in Cartagena, during the delivery of the India Catalina awards, an event in which the best of the country's television was recognized.
The National Television Authority stressed that this year is historic for public television, it began with very positive news by obtaining 91 nominations, a path that concluded with 30 India Catalina awards for this sector.
To understand the dimension of this achievement, it is important to remember that public TV had achieved 11 India Catalina awards in 2015, 14 in 2016 and 16 in 2017.
"Our commitment to quality television, committed to audiences, and to content and projects that tell us as a diverse and inclusive society are reflected in a night that is very special for Colombia, a path that must continue to be traveled to make our television even more robust," said Ángela María Mora Soto, director of the National Television Authority.
The 30 awards that public television received are the product of a very well structured work of the entire public television system.
Telecaribe, with 14 Indias Catalina; Señal Colombia, with 11; Telepacific, with 3; and Canal Institucional with 2, were in charge of delivering great joy to the country's public TV.
Private channels won seven awards. In addition to the three statuettes of the independent, where every day digital content and Transmedia are more important.
For its part, Canal Uno, which is on the air with a renewed grille since May 1, also won two awards. Community TV channels also received recognition.
