Colombia. The National Television Authority presented for comments from the sector and interested parties the regulatory project "Review of the Regulation of Community Television" which aims to establish measures that improve efficiency in this modality of service, promote competition, universal service and generate obligations proportional to the legal, civic and social nature of the associations that provide the community television service.
In 2016, during the socialization process of the last regulatory modification, the Organized Communities expressed to the entity some doubts and suggestions that were evaluated in this regulatory project, with a view to guaranteeing the sustainability of this modality of service provision in the medium and long term.
Likewise, the regulatory project took into account the conclusions of the public policy construction tables for the audiovisual sector convened by mintic during 2016.
In accordance with the observations, comments and suggestions received and recognizing the importance of community television, and the social work carried out by organized communities in the most remote areas of the national geography, the National Television Authority presents this proposal for reform of the regime of the community television service.
Those interested can submit their comments until January 30, 2018, through the email [email protected] or physically at the ANTV facilities located on Calle 72 No. 12 – 77 in the city of Bogotá.
