Colombia. The National Authority, ANTV, met with some representatives of the different subscription television operators, as well as associations of the ICT sector, to socialize the proposals raised in the regulatory project "Regulation of the Subscription Television Service".
In this participatory space, the different objectives pursued by the initiative and the topics that were subject to review and on which regulatory proposals are raised were announced.
Among the aspects that were made known to all attendees and that are the object of analysis in the regulatory projector, they focus on the following axes:
1) Modernization and simplification of the regulatory framework, unification of the rules governing the public subscription television service.
2) Simplification of procedures and reduction of administrative burdens.
3) Elimination of barriers to market entry to encourage competition.
The Regulatory Coordinator of the National Television Authority, Fabiola Téllez, explained in her speech all the aspects that were subject to review and modification, ranging from the current regulatory perspective that governs the different actors in the sector, to the new regulatory proposal.
