Latin America. One of FilmLight's goals, in addition to the penetration and commercialization of its products, is to train customers on color science. The English company focused on color correction developments, has had great acceptance in Latin America from both customers and professionals who want to specialize in these issues, said Francisco Monje, Commercial Director for Latin America and Florida of FilmLight.
"We are emphasizing Baselight Student. We believe that training is part of our development and here we are showing Baselight version 5; how Prelight & Prelight OnSet works – our on-set color corrector – and what benefits there are when you have a camera shot with two different color sciences, for example a RED and a Canon, RAW cameras that are totally different," he said.
During Expo Film, Video and TV, the executive commented: "We are demonstrating the launches we made at NAB, which are highly acclaimed by our color correction users and more by students who want to learn how to use the tools and this is to understand the science of color. We have our Prelight product, which runs on a Mac, puts a control interface to level cameras and is ready for the set. Baselight 5 is not ready yet, but in a few months we will be able to release it."
Monje said that Mexico has been a great market for the company: "Baselight has been highly acclaimed and Mexico is the country in Latin America where they are asking us for licenses the most. It is ideal for those who want to learn color science and color standards that are in the United States and Europe and not be left behind. We're also pushing Prelight, which is also an approach that understands what color science is on set."
