Mexico. Between October 2 and 3, 2017, the winners of the tender for 148 new digital terrestrial television (DTT) channels in Mexico will be announced. These new television stations will require digital equipment. Canon is already preparing to offer technological solutions for these new broadcasters.
Armando Pérez, senior manager of Professional Broadcast and Film Industry of Canon's Imaging Technologies and Communications Group division, said: "For the new television channels in Mexico we have solutions, such as the line of broadcast lenses -portable, studio or box for sports and open locations-, as well as portable video products -XF and XA series, with HD or 4K-" resolutions.
And he added: "Our film line for television stations is also adequate, since with the increase in the production of series, these cameras are very suitable, or for issues such as curtains or institutional advertising. With all this we can participate very well in the regional tv market, which is what we hope will happen very soon," he said during Expo Cine, Video y Televisión 2017.
Perez mentioned about the company's releases: "We are showing a release, the EOS C200 camera, from the Cinema family, which is the first lightweight, compact camera that is capable of recording in a 4K RAW format inside the camera on CFast cards. It is something that the market had been asking us for and finally we have a product. People are very interested in this release."
