Latin America. Audinate, precursor of the Dante standard – digital audio technology in multimedia and multichannel networks, uncompressed, with synchronization and with latency close to zero – unveiled during NAB Show 2017 its new development for this protocol: the Dante Domain Manager, described Joshua Rush, VP of Marketing at Audinate.
"It's new software that we released two weeks ago. Manages and powers the Dante network. It implements security and offers an administrator who is controlling the Dante network, who can monitor everything that is going on. You can configure different users as needed, and give them different permissions. Particularly in broadcast it is very important, because it allows a broadcaster to have better control for who can enter the audio network and what they can do, "said the executive of the company of Australian origin.
He added: "Another function is crossed subnets: you cross a subroute, and you can have different networks and devices. For example, broadcasters have their own audio network, they must transmit broadcast that already exists there. They probably have their own network, and a half-time show will occur, and they must run on their own network. Then two networks will start interacting together, before you can be ready to pick up the audio between the two. With Dante Domain Manager you can mix them and choose which audio stream people access. This solution for the broadcast industry is really important."
On the presence of the company in Latin America, the executive said that although they are not positioned in the region, through audio manufacturers through networking chips. "And we've worked with some of those manufacturers to grow on Dante brand awareness in Latin America. We have been present in shows like InfoComm in Mexico, Brazil and Colombia. I think it's a big market."
