Latin America. The Italian company Si Media, which has more than 20 years of experience developing software for television, is looking to strengthen its presence in Latin America and have a closer relationship with its current customers in the region.
To this end, the company opened an office in Miami a few months ago, from where it seeks to provide closer support to customers in the region, in which they have a presence with local distributors for about six years.
Massimo Begotto, Pre-Sales Manager of Si Media, told TVyVideo+Radio that "the company is expanding. We have 80% of the market in Italy and we are very strong in Europe and Africa. A little over a year ago we opened an office in Singapore to serve the Asian market and this year we opened our office in Miami, to serve our customers in Mexico and Central America in terms of support and facilities."
He added that one of the benefits of Si Media's technology is that it is software-based, so it can be adapted to any type of installation, being scalable and modular. Today its solutions are concentrated in automation, MAM, traffic and news room.
"Our systems are open and can be integrated with other systems to make customizations, modifications. As good Italians, we are looking forward to the service and to see how we can help our customers," he said.
The last of Si Media's projects in Latin America was an archival system for a regional newscast in the city of Cali, Colombia. Massimo Begotto pointed out that after the last version of NAB, there are several projects in the region that are underway.
