Latin America. Giovanni Punzo and Antonio Calderón are two renowned providers of broadcast solutions in Latin America that today have joined their knowledge to promote the company Streann Media, provider of systems for OTT, streaming, CDN and Middleware.
Antonio Calderón, Streann's new CTO, told TVyVideo+Radio that since the first of April they left their positions at LiveU and Broadcast Depot to concentrate on the company they both founded seven years ago and that today stopped using their own servers to use the Akamai platform, the same one on which Netflix operates.
"The industry wants to migrate to online platforms but they have no education in digital strategies, how to bring content and benefit. And that's what we do at Streann Media, taking the customer by the hand through our entire ecosystem, going through content capture, playback and monetization," he said.
Streann Media has a provisional patent for an algorithm that, without interrupting the programming that the user is watching, can insert advertising and through impressions generates traffic that becomes dollars.
"We at Streann make money for the customer. In this way the famous OTT strategy begins to make sense. With our technology the user can put advertising or we put it, but always under the model of non-interruption of content. We also have another virtual reality solution that can be very useful in sporting events or shows, in which the spectator is on stage with the artists."
Finally, Antonio Calderón pointed out that the current objective of the company is to take advantage of the experience that he and his partner have in the Latin market for more than 20 years to strengthen the company, as well as the interest in reaching the North American market.
