NAB. The English company Phabrix presented in Las Vegas its new measurement and quality control instruments for video, highlighting its new Qx analyzer, which is designed to support 4K and 8K formats.
Carlos Noguera, Sales Director for Latin America of AudioVideo BrandBuilder, representative of Phabrix, told TvyVideo+Radio that this product is focused on verifying compliance with the UHDTV1/4K and UHDTV2/8K standards.
The Qx at NAB was available in two versions, one with real-time evaluation technology for physical layer analysis and one without. Each supports up to a payload of 48 Gbps with four separate 12Gbps inputs and outputs.
Its features made the Qx a "must see" for many product manufacturers that require a set of analysis and generation tools, essential for testing products in these new high-bandwidth standards.
On the use of the company's equipment, Carlos Noguera said: "Instrumentation is one of the fundamental equipment within a television station. It allows to make quality control to the products, which if they do not have will be outside the high quality standards. The large channels and producers are clear about their use, but medium and small ones must be educated about it."
Finally, Carlos Noguera stressed that in Latin America the company's strength continues to be in HD and SD equipment, for which they have several products, including portable equipment that has been very well accepted by engineers in the region.
