Argentina. The AFSCA board of directors approved a new call for public tenders for the award of two licenses of Open Digital Terrestrial Television (TDTA), to provide for-profit service in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).
These are two channels, which were tendered in May of this year and are currently available, after having been declared inadmissible all the proposals presented on that occasion.
At the previous meeting, the directors of AFSCA rejected the presentations of the bidders Pensado Para Televisión S.A., Perfil TV S.A., Milione S.A. and Jorge Fontevecchia, for not meeting all the conditions required for the award of the bankrupt licenses.
In this context, this morning, with the signature of the president of the organization, Martín Sabbatella, and the directors Eduardo Rinesi, Ignacio Saavedra, Claudio Schifer, Marcelo Stubrin and Gerardo Milman, it was resolved that the new call for competition for the two digital TV channels for profit will be held on November 13.
In this way, the agency for the application of the Audiovisual Communication Services law continues to advance in the process of integral digitization of Argentine television, in the face of the analog blackout established for 2019 in our country.
