Brazil. The company of Brazilian origin, Tecsys, presented the Feed Unico Satelital technology, a complete solution for the implementation of the digital terrestrial signal, TDA, which allows its distribution by satellite. The use of the ability to regenerate the tables in the receivers, allows the creation of multiple SFN's from a single compressed BTS.
Carlos Henrique Ferreira, tecsys' export manager, told TVyVideo that since 2009 they were developing this technology, which was first installed in TV Aparecida. After that they worked on the evolution of the system, up to the current version.
It consists of encoders, remux ISDBT (Supplied with data carousel for interactivity, EPG,BTS signal compressor and SFN adapter), modulators and IRD. The solution allows you to simultaneously power the analog and digital satellite transmitters with bandwidth savings, since the receiver has available at the CVBS output the same image that feeds the ISDBT HD transmitter.
He highlighted among the main features:
- Use of an encoder for the generation of signal in HD and SD in the reception.
- Contracted band economy for satellite, because an analog and a digital transmission is not necessary.
- Centralized management, once an uplink feeds the two signal sources, being digital and analog.
- Transmission of a compressed BTS, maintaining the DVB signal characteristics so that other market receivers can receive the signal.
- Possibilities of IRD Tecsys with RMA to power several ISDB-T transmitters where the coverage area of the satellite allows reception, a resource widely used by religious channels in which the programming is practically the same.
"Any TV and radio station that needs to transmit its satellite signal can use the solution proposed by Tecsys, whether in Brazil or in the world," concluded Carlos Henrique Ferreira.
