Pioneer Digital Technologies presented during Andina Link 2005 its interactive guide to programming (IPG) Passport DCT 2.5 to work with boxes cable TV set-top boxes.
Navigation software includes adaptations for Latin American markets such as configurable operators to display subtitles on screen, a parental control adjustable to the classification of the local programming; and the possibility to modify the fields of pricing information to display currencies other than United States.
Also introduces the function QuickMenu, a menu configurable from the header of anyone of the operator's services, including premium services and interactive, or Passport menus that can be activated with speed by the subscriber from the remote control.
Operator cables can add value-added services and differentiate your service from others by customize the QuickMenu in categories to help subscribers to browse the entire programming offer or focus their attention on special services such as video on demand, pay per view, premium channels and music.
Passport DCT 2.5 also supports Broadcast Messaging, a function that allows you to send messages from cable heads to set-top boxes, for assist the cable operator with its market plans and communications.
Other functions of the guide are:
- Search by title.
- A navigation bar of the QuickInfo channel that allows viewers switch from full screen to available information about each program.
- Support for scalable video to display photos in graphs in time views, theme and title of the guide in the boxes DCT 700, 2500, 5100, 6200.
- Improved controls of HD format outputs that allow viewers select the aspect rate and output format of video, from the settings menu for HD boxes motorola as the DCT5100 and DCT6200.
