Having shown the Slate 100 at NAB, Broadcast Pix introduced the Slate 1000 on InfoComm, with prices as low as $9,995 in the United States. These switchers not only have excellent quality but include a character generator, clip storage, still images, animations, logo generators and accept both SDI and analog I/O. The two new products also feature full preview monitoring of programs and all cameras, so that it is not unnecessary to add video monitors, unless the user wants it.
These applications are so well integrated that a simple operator can produce a video as with any traditional switcher . In addition, they are really cost effective and very easy to operate. They can even control cameras, including the Sony BRC-300. Unlike other studio-in-a-box products, Slate offers a complete architecture of preview, classic panel display and never leaves the air, so the computer stops.
The Slate 100 uses a touch-sensitive mouse or display, while the Slate 1000 uses the physical control panel of the popular Broadcast Pix 2000 switcher , which is being used by CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS, Microsoft and other industry-leading studios, and in more than twenty countries. Customers can purchase the Slate 100 for $9,995, and upgrade it to the Slate 1000 later, for $18,795. These Slate products are ideal for live production, broadcasters, sports, mobile facilities, corporations, education and state entity studios.
