Merging Technologies S.A., a Company based in Switzerland, has released its new VCube Video HD Player/Recorder V1.0 designed for audio post-production.
What everyone They seem to appreciate more about VCube is its simplicity of use and the how it easily connects to an Avid Unity server, opens OMF multi-layer video files without any requirement and delivers the flow directly from the server, or transferred within the VCube itself, explains Ken Barnsley, market and sales manager of Merging Technologies S.A. We have conducted many demonstrations and workshops to the main studios and broadcasters, both in Europe and the U.S., with a VCube operating as a self-supported scanning station and referencing connected to a DAW system, as well as the very successful testing with multiple networked VCubes either to a unit or to our own central video server.
VCube has already been employed in the main feature films and TV programs integrated into the customers' own Unity systems. They were connected to a range of audio workstations such such as Protools, Fairlight and AudioFile as well as our own Pyramix system.
VCube V1.1 is now in its phase end of tests and adds support to a range of new I/O SDI cards, some of them offering up to SDI of dual-link and HD-SDI resolutions in addition to solutions current analogues and DV. The option for new HD 1080 also supports the new AAF, IMX and MXF options, the which will be included in this latest planned version be released during the first quarter of 2005.
