Audio-Technica supplied the wireless microphones and currents used during four U.S. campaign presidential debates. According to Company sources, the most complex installation was that of the Oct. 8 debate at St. Louis' Town Hall.
Microphones required high quality and very reliable to facilitate fast pace and complicated of that debate. The Artist Elite wireless system Audio-Technica 5000 with AEW-T5400 diaphragm transmitters Large were selected to ensure clear reproduction and precise of every word spoken by the candidates. Additionally, the moderator used the At989 and AT899 Lavaliers integrated to the 5000 Series system. Other A-T microphones were used, including 30 AE6100 Hypercardiod handheld units Dynamic and seven AT-MX351 SmartMixer automatic mixers for the audience's Q&A segments.
In the first debate, as well as in the latter, a specially designed podium microphone was used by A-T that separated the audio feeds via three elements independent encapsulated in the same unit. In this way, the audio coming from the podium of each candidate could be routed flexibly for optimal sound in the auditorium and on the channels that broadcast the event.
