This association carries out, on a permanent basis, a series of activities among which it is worth highlighting the ATVC Days. These days are annual international conventions, which bring together cable operators from Latin America, industry professionals, educators, public officials and suppliers from the cable and telecommunications industry. The ATVC Conference offers its exhibitors and attendees an ideal environment to do business, network and discover new products. During the development of this event, closed to the general public, the ATVC Awards are given to the best productions for cable, and conferences and commercial exhibition are developed.
ATVC Conference 2003
For this year, the event Jornadas ATVC 2003 invites all members of the Argentine and Latin American industry to share three days of exhibition of programming, technical equipment and services, workshops, academic dissertations and round tables, where all legal and institutional issues concerning the development of the activity will be analyzed and discussed.
The event, which will be held again at the Intercontinental Buenos Aires Hotel on November 17, 18 and 19, thus maintains its usual presence in the international exhibition calendar.
This year it will have the joint organization of:
- Argentine Association of Cable Television, ATVC.
- Argentine Chamber of Satellite Signal Distributors, CADiSSa.
The technical conferences and workshops of the ATVC Conference 2003 will deal with the theme "Optimizing the network, maximizing revenues", for which content related to the following aspects of the industry will be presented:
- Technologies that allow the development of new services with small investments.
- How to survive in the telecommunications market.
- The easy IP: how to launch a cable modem service on your network.
- DOCSIS-1 1 vs. 2.0.
- Launch of commercial data services via fiber or RF.
- Architecture and business case for hotel or other MxU HSD.
- How to compete with the DTH satellite offering.
- Financing growth in a declining economy.
- How to make a business case for new services.
- Maintenance of the return route.
- Real VoIP call management: QoS, CoS, InterOp, security, PSTN connectivity, scalability.
- Digital video vs. IP video: which one should I choose and when?
Likewise, the exhibitors will be programming providers; manufacturers, distributors and suppliers of equipment for telecommunications and broadband television; suppliers of equipment for video production and post-production; companies receiving and transmitting satellite signals; service companies of different types, including internet, e-commerce, cable telephony, and content development companies.
