The 12G-SDI transport uses a single link to transmit high-resolution 4K/UHD video over infrastructure and networks. This single-link connectivity replaces the four-link 3G-SDI architecture, long used in the broadcast and production arena, where 4K video used to be transmitted over four coaxial or fiber-optic cables.

The uncompressed 12G-SDI format and its ease of deployment have driven its adoption in the enterprise broadcasting industry as the demand for high-quality video increases.

In addition, in audiovisual environments, video is usually transmitted over 1 Gb and/or 10 Gb IP networks using a wide range of protocols, such as ST 2110 (IPMX) and SDVoE. MultiDyne has solutions to optimize the efficiency of these networks through the use of fiber optics.

MultiDyne's VersaBrix Fiber Transport Series debuts 10G Ethernet capability, featuring FiberSaver wavelength shift multiplexers, SilverBack fiber camera adapters, NanoBrix miniature converters, and the VF-9000 fiber optic transport system; all of them have added 12G-SDI support in the last five years.

The integration of 12G-SDI and 10GbE support offers exceptional value for customers who require the high resolution and performance of a single 12G-SDI cable. and the ability to transmit that high-quality video over 10GbE networks with very low latency.
