Latin America. Recently the Norwegian company AppearTV presented new developments, among which the modules for the XC5000 modular digital header stand out, a chassis with internal IP network that allows to control different cards and create customized solutions. The new modules include an audio encoder/decoder, satellite modulators, and implemented their multiscreen OTT solution.
Sergio Rentería, sales director for Latin America of the company, told TVyVideo+Radio that in the region they are very strong in cable, with a presence in almost all countries, and now they want to reach new segments of the industry for which they also have solutions, such as multiscreen and DTH.
"Another of our novelties, presented during the last version of IBC, is the Offline management system, with which encoders can be managed to make the encoding of content on demand," he added.
On the Latin American market, Sergio Rentería said that it was slow at the beginning of the year, but has improved with important businesses in Mexico and Argentina. "We hope that next year will be much better because multiscreen OTT projects will increase, we already have companies interested in Argentina and Peru."
